What’s happening?

Weber Shandwick is looking for a talented Associate who wants to be part of the Corporate Enterprise practice in our London office. The practice is made up of a smart, dedicated and fun team with expertise spanning B2B, Corporate, Public Affairs, Crisis/Issues, Social Impact/ESG and Technology.

The ideal candidate will be curious, ambitious, proactive and friendly. The role offers a portfolio of well-known global brands, as well as work on integrated campaigns involving earned media, strategy, creative, analytics and digital specialists. You’ll be instrumental in supporting marcomms account teams managing the day-to-day running of account, pitching to the media and securing coverage, research, and reporting on campaigns.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key attributes:

CLIENT AND WORK

  • Serve as key team member to creatively support delivery of a range of marketing and communication objectives on a busy energy account.
  • Support development of press releases, media strategies, reactive media statements, talking points, FAQs, memos and other deliverables as needed; Support monitoring and triaging of client issues
  • Support development of customer engagement strategies and development of associated collateral (social media content, brochures, case studies etc) to support lead generation objectives.
  • Ability to contribute ideas during campaign ideation sessions and explore innovative ways to make campaigns engaging and resonant.
  • Confidence in managing many evolving projects and deliverables, prioritising to meet varied deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of social analytics
  • Full analytical fluency in all social/digital platforms
  • Provide input during development of projects based on insights and knowledge of client preferences
  • Prepare for and participates in client meetings, including accurately capturing notes, agenda action items, call recaps, updating trackers, timelines and status documents

  • Serve as role model to team members, producing high quality work and continually updating manager on activity progress
  • Actively seek to build own knowledge, contributes to inclusive team culture and consistently displays behaviors that support integration

GROWTH AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Leverage understanding of client’s business to share ideas to help grow the account organically
  • Participate in meetings to support new business development/organic business growth opportunities as directed, including capturing notes, recaps, research, updating trackers and timelines (proactive/reactive pitches)
  • Attuned to culturally relevant insights and happenings for clients and begin to bring forward these insights to inform growth activity

BUSINESS ACUMEN

  • Develop and demonstrate a solutions-oriented mentality, including the pursuit of multiple approaches when faced with a challenge
  • Develop a relationship mindset and seek opportunities to get to know peers within and outside of department to imagine how to work together to deliver the best possible work
  • Develop a strong understanding of the client’s business and target audience; Continue to maintain a keen interest in current industry trends
  • Support a healthy account through timely and accurate tracking of time
  • Listen for client cues that impact the business and escalates to manager as appropriate
  • Review SOWs and understand deliverables
  • Have awareness of billability targets and utilization – take actions to meet targets
  • Review time-runs for accuracy

Minimum Criteria:

  • At least one or two year’s experience in a similar role, ideally within PR or communications
  • Relevant sector experience within Corporate or B2B communications
  • Experience interacting with clients on a day-to-day basis
  • Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver an exceptional client experience
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to distil complex information into compelling copy
  • Attentive to detail and committed to high-quality work
  • Fluency in Microsoft programs and digital/social media platforms, tools, and solutions
  • Eagerness to learn, develop, and grow within the agency environment
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to contribute positively to a team
  • Ideally, you will possess many of the above skills and attributes
